FAQ

Plain answers to the questions buyers actually ask.

If yours isn't here, drop us a note — happy to add it.

Agni Consulting provides on-demand marketing leadership for B2B SaaS companies — fractional CMO, marketing ops, demand gen, and RevOps. Engagements run from $5K projects to $30K/mo enterprise pods, start in weeks not quarters, and embed alongside your team. Verified outcomes include +38% MQL→SQL conversion and 3× pipeline velocity. The 12 answers below cover pricing, scope, and how engagements actually work.

How is a fractional CMO different from hiring a full-time CMO or an agency?

A full-time CMO costs $250K+ all-in and takes 90 days to ramp. An agency executes tactics but doesn't own outcomes. A fractional CMO is a senior operator embedded in your growth motion — strategy AND execution — for a fraction of the cost, with no 90-day ramp. We're already operators, not consultants pretending to be operators.

What's the minimum engagement length?

Project-based engagements (single deliverable like a HubSpot migration or demand gen audit) start at 4 weeks. Fractional consulting typically runs 90 days minimum so we can actually move pipeline numbers. Automation retainers go month-to-month after a 60-day onboarding sprint.

What's included in the engagement?

Strategy, build, and operate. We don't bill separately for 'discovery' phases. Phase 1 (Diagnostic, weeks 1–2) is included. Phase 2 (Build, weeks 3–6) ships campaign architecture, lifecycle programs, CRM cleanup, automation workflows, dashboards. Phase 3 (Operate) is weekly sprint cadence, experiments, and pipeline review loops. Specific deliverables depend on your engagement model.

What's NOT included?

Ad spend (you pay platforms directly). Paid tooling licenses (HubSpot, Marketo, Outreach, etc. — we work in your seat). Creative production over 8 hours/month (I bring in a design contractor and pass through at cost). Sales team management. Anything outside marketing ops, demand gen, lifecycle, or RevOps.

Do you replace our existing marketing team or work with them?

Work with them. We embed alongside your in-house team — typically reporting to the CEO or VP Marketing — to amplify what they already do well. Most clients keep their team intact; we add senior operator capacity where it's missing.

How does pricing work?

Three engagement models: Quick Wins (project-based, $5K–$15K), Growth Engine (fractional consulting, $7K–$18K/mo), Fractional CMO (senior operator at ~3 days/week, $15K–$30K/mo). All USD, all transparent. See the Engagements page for ranges and scope.

What geography do you cover?

Based in Toronto, working with clients across Canada and the US, plus engagements in Europe by referral. Async-first — most engagements never need a single timezone-stretching standup.

Can we exit early?

Yes. Any engagement can be paused or cancelled with 14 days' written notice. No 'locked-in 12-month contract' theater. If we're not moving the pipeline numbers, you shouldn't be paying us.

Who owns the deliverables and IP?

You do. Everything we build — playbooks, dashboards, workflows, content, lists, automation — is yours. We retain rights to anonymize and aggregate learnings for our own writing, but never your brand, data, or clients.

What ROI should we expect?

Measured outcomes from real engagements include 3× pipeline velocity in 90 days, a 38% lift in MQL→SQL conversion, and $1.4M in sourced pipeline. Those are specific results from specific engagements, not an average I'd promise you — what you get depends on the engagement model and your starting state. The case studies show the real numbers and say plainly how each was measured — see /case-studies/.

How fast can we start?

Days, not weeks. Once we've aligned on scope and signed, kickoff happens within 5 business days. The Phase 1 Diagnostic delivers in week 2. We don't do month-long 'onboarding' phases.

Who's the operator we'll actually work with?

Aman Gupta — a senior marketing operator with 7+ years in B2B SaaS and fintech, who owns your engagement end-to-end. Agni is deliberately a single-operator practice: no layered team of juniors learning on your dime, no account managers between you and the work. The person who scopes it is the person who builds it.
